Cultivation

Our flower bulbs are supplied by carefully selected growers with whom we have generally been working for many years. These long-term relationships are based on mutual trust, craftsmanship and a shared ambition to deliver the highest quality.

However, our history goes back much further. More than a century ago, our founder started growing potatoes on the fertile clay soils of West Friesland. He soon discovered the opportunities offered by flower bulb cultivation, after which he decided to focus entirely on this specialised field. This marked the beginning of our own nursery, which has been an indispensable part of our company for more than 100 years.

Our own cultivation forms the basis of our company. It has enabled us to build up in-depth knowledge, develop new cultivation methods and have complete control over quality from bulb to flower. In our nursery, we cultivated over 40 hectares of flower bulbs on the characteristic clay soil of West Friesland. This has given us a thorough understanding of what makes a good bulb and how every detail of the cultivation process influences the final result.

In 2023, we unfortunately had to decide to close our nursery. It was a difficult decision, but our wealth of experience and craftsmanship remain at the heart of everything we do. Thanks to this background, we are still extremely critical and expert in the selection of our partners today. This means our customers can continue to count on flower bulbs of consistently high quality.
