Herewith we are proud to inform you that this year we participated again in the Holland Flowers Festival, which takes place from February 23 till 27. The Festival took place for the 78th time this year, and we have been participating since the beginning, so this year has been the 78th anniversary of both the festival and our participation in the festival.
The Holland Flowers Festival is judged by an expert jury each year, and once again Jan de Wit en Zonen B.V. won several prizes. Below we have selected the prizes from the jury’s report:
- Group A: 101 boxes tulips and more, 1st Prize, 9.00 points
- Hyacinths, 1st Prize, 8.70 points
- Mixed group, 1st Prize, 9.20 points
- Cut tulip flowers, 1st Prize, 8.60 points
- Lilies, 1st Prize, 9.00 points
- Irises, 2nd Prize, 8.00 points
This year’s theme is Mexico. Our display, arranged by Dorien van der Berg, contains several elements that came forth from Mexico’s culture. We have different flower arrangements containing the Patroness of Mexico, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and also “Lucha Libre”, which is Spanish for free fighting. The masks that the fighters wear have been used in the flower arrangements. The arrangement also contains several original sombreros from Mexico.
