As practical as the De Wit family is, they at once seized this occasion to baptize a new family of tulips. This concerns selections from crossbreds with Fancy Frills from 1997 and 1998, accomplished by Jan de Wit Rinusz., one of the nine representatives of the third generation at Jan de Wit en Zonen B.V. The purpose of the crossbreds was attaining double flowering crispas, which are also suitable for forcing. The varieties have been tested for many years already during the forcing for the Holland Flowers Festival. The varieties come in 4 colours; red: Love Magic, white: White Magic, pink: Pink Magic, and red-yellow: Twilight Magic. The baptism was also performed by Barbara Reus-de Wit, deputy mayor of Stede Broec, which includes Bovenkarspel, once called “the capital of the clay bulb”, now better called “the capital of the clay flower”. This in the presence of course of Johan van Scheepen on behalf of the KAVB.

Jan de Wit en Zonen B.V. has great confidence that these well growing, with beautiful bright colours, very full, double crispas will be a magical addition to the present assortment.
